Steve Parr has served with distinction in local churches as a staff member, as well as the interim pastor of more than a dozen congregations. He has a masters of divinity degree in Christian education from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and a doctor of ministry degree in church growth and evangelism from the Southern Baptist Baptist Theological Seminary. Steve is an author, preacher, and provides leadership as a vice-president at the Georgia Baptist Mission Board.
Under Steve’s leadership, the Georgia Baptist Mission Board has begun a new initiative to help equip churches to reach the next generation. In this session, you will hear why this is important and learn some of the tools that are available to every church, to help them select their future course in reaching the next generation.

Preparing Students to Cross the Faith Bridge
More students are now leaving the church than are staying following graduation. For those who drop out, 60 percent will do so in the months following high school graduation. But, there is hope. Steve Parr, author of “Why They Stay,” will share the keys to preparing those in your group to cross over from student life to adult life, with commitment and faith that continues to grow.
