Chuck Kelley

Keynote: Chuck Kelley

Chuck Kelley is the president of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Two years after becoming an ordained minister, Kelly earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy degree from Baylor University. He also graduated with a master of divinity degree and doctor of theology degree from NOBTS. In 1983, Kelley began teaching evangelism at NOBTS, until he became the Roland Q. Leavell professor of evangelism in 1989. In 1993, he directed the Leavell Center for Evangelism and Church Health, and became the chair of the Pastoral Ministries Division until 1995. The following year, NOBTS elected Kelley as the 8th president of the institution. Kelley and his wife, Rhonda Harrington, have celebrated 43 years of marriage. [more]


Cliff Duren

Worship Leader: Cliff Duren

Cliff Duren is the music and worship minister at Station Hill Church in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Originally from Georgia, Cliff graduated from Shorter University with a music education degree and from Lee University with a master’s degree in church music. Before coming to Brentwood in 2012, he served as the staff arranger at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, Georgia. During that time, he was nominated for five Dove Awards. He also arranges, orchestrates, and produces music resources for various publishers. [more]


Steve Bowersox

Steve Bowersox

Steve Bowersox is the founding executive director of Integrity Music’s Worship International, and he now serves as executive pastor of worship for First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. In addition, Steve is an adjunct professor at the University of Mobile and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, teaching Worship Leadership and Technology. He is the founder and president of the Bowersox Institute of Music, and also Worship 1st, a non-profit organizations dedicated to the development of the musician in worship. He has been an instructor and musician with the seminar’s four worship conferences, Integrity’s Institute of Worship studies, Maranatha! Worship Leaders workshops, and Lillenas Music conferences. Steve holds degrees in music, education, business and ministry. He has authored the books Worship Musician’s Theory Course, Vocal Aerobics: A Fitness Program for Your Voice, ‘MIDI’anites Redeemed, and The Worship Leaders Survival Kit. His diverse musical abilities and expertise have afforded him valuable experience as a producer, arranger, worship leader, and studio musician. Jason Britt has been the lead pastor of Bethlehem Church in Bethlehem, Georgia since 2011. He has a background in student ministry as a student pastor, college pastor, and featured speaker, at camps and conferences across the country. In 2016, Bethlehem Church was recognized in Outreach Magazine as one of the fastest growing churches in America. Jason and his wife, Nan, have been married for 15 years and are the proud parents of Carson, Claire, and Caleb. Bill Emeott joined the team at LifeWay in January of 2003, after serving as a kid’s minister for 14 years in Metro Atlanta. As lead specialist, he works with the LifeWay Kids Team to develop and communicate LifeWay’s resources for childhood ministry, though leadership training and events. Bill is a member of First Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee, where he teaches The Gospel Project to preteens on Sunday morning and Children’s Bible Drill on Sunday night. [more]

As president of Highland Financial Planning Consultants in Cleveland, Ohio, Randy has over 25 years of financial advising, business consulting, and wealth management experience. He works with clients to create strategies and plans to maximize tax-efficiency and enhance family values and dynamics, while minimizing confusion and liabilities. Prior to joining Highland, Randy was a principal of a wealth advisory firm and in the private client group of a large national bank. Randy has helped create over $1 billion of additional resources to both families and charities, while enhancing the preservation of family businesses, family wealth, and family relationships. He has served and counseled with world, national and, local non-profit organizations, and has authored articles on business succession, charitable planning, and stewardship. He holds a master in business administration in finance degree from the University of Akron. Philip Kramer

Major Kramer is presently serving as a chaplain with the United States Army Rangers. Since becoming an Army Chaplain in 2004, he has served with the 82nd Airborne Division, 75th Ranger Regiment, and Office of the Chief of Chaplains at the Pentagon. He has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan six times. [more]

Cheryl Markland

Cheryl Markland joined the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina as a senior consultant for Childhood Ministries, in October 2012. Previously, she served 17 years as a children’s minister at Eastern Hills Baptist in Charlotte, North Carolina, and First Baptist Church in Matthews, North Carolina, overseeing preschool and children’s ministries. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1978, and master’s degree in Christian education in 1998, from Pfeiffer University. Joe Payton serves as the student pastor at Bethlehem Church in Bethlehem, Georgia, and also as the 211 campus pastor. He and his wife, Courtney, have served at Bethlehem Church since August 2015; and they have two sons, Andrew and Judson. Joe has a passion to lead people of all ages to a relationship with Jesus, and for them to experience all that He has for them. Lawrence Phipps

Lawrence Phipps is currently the senior pastor for the interim at First Baptist Gulf Shores in Gulf Shores, Alabama. After 36 years of pastoral ministry, he also became the leader and founder of ItsLifeMinistry.com. He began Vaughn Forest Church in Montgomery, Alabama in 1994, which has since grown to over 2,500 members. Lawrence, along with Daniel Edmonds, published Growing Sunday School/Small Group TEAMS. He has also authored the books Create Small Groups that Build Up Churches, It’s LIFE, Praying in FAITH, and More Abundant LIFE: 100 Days to Start or Restart Your Christian Walk. Lawrence and his wife, Karen, are parents of two daughters: Heather (Brian) Ivancic and Lauren (Tyler) Finkelstein. [more]
